A few days ago as I was rapidly shoveling food into my daughters waiting mouth, she got excited and batted the spoon, causing the sweet potatoes/rice mixture to land nicely in front of her. So what do you think the first thing she did was? That's right stick both of her hands in it causing it to go everywhere. Now instead of following my first instinct which would be to quickly wash her hands and the counter to not 'make a mess' (too late!) I sat back and watched how excited she was to have her first finger painting project.
This was the first of many reminders, I'm sure, to go with the flow and deal with the mess later :)

My Birthday, Yeah Me :)
Last weekend was my Birthday.
Like anyone, it's one of my favorite days of the year because, well, why not?
A major birthday highlight was our little girl slept through the night for the first time! Now what mom doesn't want that as a present? I woke up and felt like a real person!
My darling husband gave me a few gift certificates and an IOU for a 'mommy day' where I get to take off for the whole day and be all by myself! Hurray! And the best part is that this mommy day gets to be followed up by a massage when I get home. What a deal! Not sure when I will cash in on it, but I'll let you know.
The days was filled with loving phone calls from family and friends and relaxing with my family, the finished with a few dear friends and some cards.
What fun!

Bread
Well, it's been more than a week this time, but for me, this is intro to blogging!
I have always loved the idea (and smell) of homemade bread, but find myself too impatient to make it myself. Recently I stumbled across a blog and she was talking about making bread in a crock pot! I thought this was an incredible idea, so I looked into it a little more.
Most blogs suggest using a can or bread pan in the crock pot, but I struggled to find one that fit in mine. I just lined my crockpot with tin foil, spray on some olive oil and put the dough into the pot.
2.5 hours later, I have a house that smells like fresh bread.

Life
I have spent the last week thinking to myself, "OK, I did it. I have a blog... now what!?" There are dozens of blog themes out there: frugal living, coupon-ing, extreme frugality, sewing, kids, farming, homesteading, homeschooling, crock potting, and the list could go on, really it could..." But I want this blog to just be me. So then I thought, "Ok, what is me?" Well, I guess the better question is "What are we?"
Here are some of the things "We" are. We are a young family (DH (25) DD (6mo) & Me (23)), we are youth directors, we are working, we are going to school... well heck, we are just crazy!
Then I realized that the name of the blog really does encompass my goals. I want to be an individual, a wife, a mom and a friend 'making simple memories' with people. Nothing overly creative and complicated, just simple me.
So hopefully I will post more than just once a week, but for a first-timer, I guess I'm glad I came back this week!

Jumping In
I have finally entered the blogging world, what a leap. We have a small family blog, but I think in 3 years it has been updated 5 or 6 times, so that just barely counts as a blog.
I am a wife, mom, student, creative mind and oh so much more, journeying through life and ready to share it.
